Terms and Conditions - For The Health of It
SCOPE OF PRACTICE
All treatments provided at For The Health of It are performed by trained, certified, and insured practitioners within their regulated scope of practice. Massage Therapy and Manual Osteopathy are complementary health services and do not replace medical care from a physician or other registered healthcare provider.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Client agrees to:
- provide accurate and complete health information
- Disclose all medical conditions, injuries, surgeries, allergies, and medications
- Update the clinic regarding any changes to health status
- Follow safety instructions provided by their practitioner
Failure to provide accurate information may impact treatment safety.
SPACE REQUIREMENTS FOR MOBILE SESSIONS:
To ensure safety and accessibility:
- Clients must provide a minimum of 6ft x 10ft (1.8m x 3m) of cleared, unobstructed space for the therapist to set up equipment and perform treatment safely.
- The area must be indoors, clean, dry, and at a comfortable temperature.
- Pets should be secured in another room during treatment for safety and hygiene.
- The therapist reserves the right to refuse or end a session if the space is unsafe or insufficient. Full fees may apply for inadequate space.
PARKING + TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
To maintain mobility and efficiency:
- Clients must provide an on-site parking spot (driveway, garage, or designated stall)
- If parking is not available and the therapist must park off-site, paid parking fees or extended walking distance may result in an additional transportation fee (communicated in advance when possible)
- Travel fees may apply for locations outside designated service areas.
CONSENT TO TREATMENT
Clients must give informed consent before every session.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Sensitive areas (glutes, chest/pecs, inner thighs/adductors) require explicit verbal consent and will be clearly documented in accordance with the standards required by regulating bodies and professional associations.
All consent - verbal or written - will be recorded in the client's chart as part of professional practice and regulatory compliance.
BOOKING POLICIES
Appointments:
- Appointments may be booked online, by phone, or directly with the therapist
- New clients should complete online intake forms prior to treatment
Late Arrival (Client Delay)
- If the client is late to answer the door or allow the therapist into the home, the session cannot be extended beyond the originally booked time.
- Full session fees will still apply, as travel, setup, and scheduling for subsequent clients can not be adjusted.
Therapist Delay
- If the therapist is running late due to weather, traffic, or other extenuating circumstances, they will communicate promptly with the client.
- Session time may not be able to be extended due to travel schedules and subsequent appointments.
- when delays are significant, the therapist may offer a discount or rate adjustment determined on a case-by-case basis.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Cancellations under 24 hours may be charged 50-100% of the session fee.
- NO SHOWS are charged the full fee
- Exceptions may be granted for emergencies at the clinic's discretion
PAYMENT POLICY:
Payment is due at the time of service.
Accepted forms of payment may include e-transfer, debit/credit, gift cards, or direct billing (when available).
Clients are responsible for unpaid balances, including any denied insurance claims.
INSURANCE & DIRECT BILLING:
- Receipts for Massage Therapy are issued only when provided by a registered therapist.
- Manual Osteopathy receipts are accepted only by insurers who cover Osteopathic Manual Practice.
- Direct billing is offered where available but cannot be guaranteed.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Clients agree to behave respectfully toward their therapist and provide a sage environment.
Any inappropriate or unsafe behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the session, with full fees applied.
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
- Clients experiencing illness, fever, contagious conditions, or active infections must reschedule.
- Therapists may refuse or end a session if treatment is considered unsafe or contraindicated.
- The therapist will maintain strict sanitation standards for mobile equipment.
GIFT CARDS & PACKAGES:
- Gift cards are not redeemable for cash, valid only for services at For The Health of It, have no expiry fate, and no not carry inactivity or dormancy fees.
- Packages must be used by the designated client unless otherwise permitted.
- Prices may change over time.
REFUND POLICY:
- Treatment fees are for time and expertise, not guaranteed outcomes.
- Refunds are not provided for completed services.
- Unused pre-paid sessions may be refunded partially at the clinic discretion.
LIABILITY WAIVER:
Clients acknowledge that:
- Treatment outcomes vary
- Temporary post-treatment soreness may occur
- The clinic is not responsible for adverse effects resulting from withheld or inaccurate health information.
