This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website www.forthehealthofit.ca ("the site"), hosted by GoDaddy, and when you use our massage therapy and manual osteopathy services ("the services"), which are managed using Noterro practice management software.

• Health Information: Your health history, current conditions, treatment goals, clinical notes, and any other information relevant to your care. This is primarily collected through our digital intake forms within Noterro
• Billing information: Payment information processed through Square. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
• Communications: Records of your correspondence with us. 

B. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

• Technical data: our website host, GoDaddy, may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and the date/times of your visits. Please refer to GoDaddy's Privacy Policy for more details on their data collection practices.
• Cookies and Tracking technologies: Our site may use cookies. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. 

HOW WE USE YOUR INFOMRATION

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide and manage Healthcare Services: to assess your needs, develop treatment plans, perform treatments, and maintain your clinical records within Noterro. 
• To schedule and communicate: To book, confirm, and remind you of appointments (via Noterro) and to communicate with you about your care.
• For billing and administration: To process payments securely through Square and to manage your patient file. 
• To improve our services: To understand how our site and services are used. 
• For legal and regulatory compliance: To comply with Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA), the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and the record retention of our regulatory college. 
• Marketing (with your consent): To send you newsletters or information about new services, only if you have explicitly opted in. You can opt-out at any time. 

HOW WE SHARE AND DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION

  • Noterro: Our practice management software provider, which stores and processes your personal health information and contact details. Noterro is a Canadian company bound by a data processing agreement and compliant with Canadian Privacy Laws. 
  • Square: Our payment processor, which handles your payment card information for transactions. Square is PCI-DSS Compliant.
  • GoDaddy: Our website hosting provider, which hosts the data and traffic for our public-facing website

These partners are contractually obligated to protect your information and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose. 

DATA SECURITY:

This includes using reputable, secure services like Noterro and Square, which employ encryption and other security protocols. Access to your personal health information with our practice is restricted to authorized personnel only. While we take all reasonable steps to secure your data, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. 

DATA RETENTION:

As required by our regulatory college and Alberta's Health Information Act, we will retain your personal health information for a minimum of 10 years from the date of your last interaction or, in the case of a minor, 10 years after the patient turns 18. After this period, your information will be securely destroyed or anonymized.

• Access: you have the right to access and receive a copy of your personal health information held in your record. 
• Correction: You have the right to request a correction to any inaccurate or incomplete information in your record.
